There’s 1000’s of ways to increase targeted traffic. You can buy targeted traffic, which is by far the fastest and easiest way to get quality traffic, or with some work, you can get free targeted traffic.
So many new marketers make the same mistake, they run straight to google adwords and blow there advertising budget before even testing there sales page. I was guilty of commiting this mistake too, I thought I’d be different, I’d convert like crazy.. WRONG!
The best way to go about getting traffic to your new website is to put the initial work in and get the free traffic first. This free traffic will allow you to learn what works best without losing your shirt in the process. Some very effective ways to generate free targeted website traffic are:
- Craigslist, which is a very busy classifieds site.
- Email signature, a link to your site in out going emails.
- Forum signature, a link to your site in your forum posts
- Article marketing, submit article about your website.
- Blogging, link to your site in your blog.
- Social networking, Facebook, Myspace, Squidoo, Hubpages.
The list above is just the tip of the ice berg. One of my all time favorite sites to generate free targeted traffic from is Squidoo. Squidoo is a great place to increase your targeted traffic. For some reason google absolutely loves Squidoo, and Squidoo Sites always rank very high in google. I consistently end up on the first page of google even though I’m targeting very competetive keywords.
My second favorite method of free advertising is definitely article marketing. To be honest, I’ve always hated article marketing, not the writing, I enjoy writing, but I’ve always hated the grunt work that goes hand in hand with article marketing. By “grunt work” I mean submitting the articles to all the directories.
I recently found a way to lessen the article marketing work load. I found free article submission software. I couldn’t belive it either, but it’s true the software is free, and all the targeted traffic it generates is free too.
So, if your new to the making money online scene, and you really want to increase your targeted traffic, I say go with Squidoo, and article marketing. Don’t be like everyone else, test your product and services through free traffic generation, if you run right out and buy your quality traffic, your doomed before you begin.
