Software companies follows some methodology which is step wise process to develop a project involving usage of programming language for creating solutions. These steps covers the extent of examining, designing, developing, testing, documenting, implementing, and evaluating the complex subject of software engineering. A software developer work concentrates in reducing the risks involved in the project management. If the project runs for a longer duration of time, there are higher chances of risks being faced by the software development team. To lessen these kinds of risks involved, developers have discovered an agile framework, which tries to finish off the software development in the least amount of time. Agile software development is a group of software development methodology based on iterative and incremental development, where requirements and solutions evolve through collaboration between self-organizing, cross functional teams. Agile framework reveals improved ways of developing software, wherein the requirements and solutions develop through teamwork between self-organizing and cross-functional teams.
The framework involves great deal of co-operation between the professionals themselves and frequent communication with its clients. The communication may be through tele-calling, video conferencing, or direct face to face to understand the client’s requisitions about the design, tools, and techniques required for software development. The software is carefully designed as per the customer requirement using the selected software development methodology A team of software professionals are appointed to monitor and update the changes regularly. The agile development methodology is always focused towards the customer fulfillment. The method involved is similar to small repetitive process, wherein each module is a complete project lifecycle which includes analysis, designing, development, testing, and deployment. At the start of each module of the project, there is a clear definition of requirements to be addressed until the start of the next project lifecycle. These short lifecycles are continued until a product is evolved which matches the original model.
The stepwise repetitive approach helps the project to be divided into smaller targets to ease off the software development cycle. Agile method of software development differs from waterfall methods of software development in various ways. A waterfall development project is a phased approach which involves distinct phases: start, plan, design, build, test, and close whereas, agile method involves a sequence of repetitive phases throughout the project like requirements, analysis and design, implementation, testing, evaluation, and back to planning. These steps would be repeated until the development team reaches the final output as required by the client. it has a clear cut strategy involved which analyzes each and every stage keeping any changes in mind. Constant review and feedback is obtained from the end user. Thus, agile approach helps minimize risk, and lets the project adapt to changes quickly. It also helps to ensure changes are done only in the required modules. Agile framework is used under the software development methodologyand itis advantageous as it helps increased business efficiencies by reducing the project budget as there are fewer defects in the final product. But there are certain drawbacks also attached to agile framework. As changes are unanticipated and comes so quickly it is difficult to avoid resistance from clients to end user training. Also a lack of documentation is often a distinctive feature as agile methods are not process-oriented.
